Jay and Dianne Hartwell and Dave & D Nesor were all friends, and basically held TES together during the mid 70's (1975 to 77 to be exact#.

Jay and Dianne Hartwell were the original publishers of SM Express and published that newspaper for several issues before giving it to Dave Nesor. It was first published in New York by the Nu-Bond Company.

The Hartwells gave SM Express to Dave,(Rosen) Nesor, who took that newspaper and moved to Chicago to be by Mole Publications in Chicago.

Editorial by Dave Nesor

Thanks to Jay and Dianne

"Years ago when the original SM Express ceased publication, it was a sad day for the S/M and B/D. The Hartwell's, editors the original SM Express went another route and with their club "The Castle" in New York they are still an example for all of us in the season.

"With the re-birth of the SM Express we do not mean to copycat the excellent work done by the Hartwell's. Since the demise of the SM Express, many new papers have come out and filled certain voids. In our SM Express we will continue to deal with do it yourself articles, couples information and real stories. With real, I mean things that you can do to your slave, or your Mistress or Master can do to you. Don't expect to read horror stories or science fiction. We feel that the other S&M publisher has lost touch with reality and often are a disservice to further acceptance of the scene. For us, the main decision to start publishing, initially Leather Underground and now SM Express was based on getting across message that S/M and B/D can be very beautiful and satisfying. That the desire to serve a master or mistress is no more than just fantasy that master or mistress can often than not is a caring person not a whit whip wielding sadist."

It was first published in New York by the NuBond Company and later by Mole Publications in Chicago, with Dave Nessor.
