Daddy/daughter
Daddy-daughter (or "lil girl") is a type of relationship rooted in consensual power inbalance where the dominant partner has a parental role as well as that of a sexual partner. Although it may be natural to think that it involves a father/daughter relationship, that is not always the emphasis. While there is no direct connection between 'Daddies' or 'girls' and incest, many - espcially females - seem excited by the taboo or submissive feelings associated with it.
Daddy-daughter can also be used in a scene for short-term roleplay.
Gender
Despite its name, Daddy/lil girl is not unique to male/female relationships. Although Mommy/boy is becoming popular in the USA for heterosexual relationships where a woman is the dominant in this kind of relationship, many still refer to the relationship style as Daddy/lil girl. Homosexual couples are also found in this relationship style.
Ages
In most relationships, the male is older than the female and this is true also of this type of relationship. The age gap need not be any greater than normal, however and some 'Daddies' are younger than the 'daughter'.
Daddy/little girl does not refer to the ages, real or pretend, of the participants. Nor does it imply closet desires. It refers to the environment that two people have created.
Age Play
Some couples enjoy age play, or simply living in roles where the ages of one or both are set specifically with a parent/child type of age gap. Age play is not unique to Daddy/lil girl relationships nor is it necessarily a part of them.
Daddy Dom
A Daddy Dom knows the value of discipline, though at times his soft heart gets the best of him. He knows that in order for his little girl to be the best she can possibly be he must stand firm. He uses his experience in life and his knowledge of her to provide proper direction and punishment when the need arises. He knows this hurts her, and that tears at his heart, but he also knows it is for her own good.
'lil girl'
Short form of 'little girl'. Little does not necessarily refer to either age or size but to the psychological positioning within the relationship. She is his: his to love and care for; his to cherish and correct; his to guide, teach and discipline.
BDSM variant
In BDSM or BDSM-leaning couples, "daddy's girl" can expect to get punished for offenses she commits. This will typically not be punishments of the kind you find in Master/slave relationships, but more like those you find in the traditional punishment of children: scolding and spanking being most popular. Other punishments the partners in this kind of relationship may like include corner time, mouth washing or diaper discipline.
Such punishment is consensual, even when there may be acting of nonconsensuality as part of a roleplay. The "daddy" will know and respect the "girl's" disciplinary preferences and limits. As the "daddy" takes a role that overlaps with that of a BDSM dominant, he is also known as Daddy Dom.
The power exchange helps to deepen the roles, and after the punishment is usually a popular time for cuddling and/or intimacy.
