In common D&S relationships the sub only submits occasionally and with definite short-term goals, perhaps for an evening or the duration of a party.
Under the heading of Master/slave relationships, I think that there should be a set of very special rules that are between the slave and her Master.

In longer, committed relationships many people opt for the Master/slave model, in which consent is negotiated once for a long period and the consent given is generally broader. Some people opt to be purely "sex slaves", while others who prefer domestic service identify as "service slaves". Some slaves allow their Masters or Mistresses complete latitude as to the demands that can be placed on them. Such a relationship is known as "Total Power Exchange" or TPE), where the slave has given all control to the dominant partner, whether with or without a contract. Whereas in the Dominant/submissive relationship, the submissive tends to have more 'rights', and be able to use their safeword to stop a scene, a slave may not have that luxury.
There should be a Master/slave ceremony, during which those rules are spoken aloud so that there is no doubt as to their meaning. I wrote down those words so they could be spoken during the recent ceremony to everyone present.

A Master/slave (TPE) relationship can be one of the most difficult relationships in the BDSM world to maintain, and requires special skills and experience, on both the Master's and slave's parts.

Some people opt to be purely "sex slaves", where their sole duty is to please and pleasure their Master. Others who prefer domestic service identify as "service slaves". As usual, there is much blending of the two, as well as other classifications of slave.

Under the heading of Master/slave relationships, I think that there should be a set of very special rules that are between the slave and her Master.

There should be a Master/slave ceremony, during which those rules are spoken aloud so that there is no doubt as to their meaning. I wrote down those words so they could be spoken during the recent ceremony to everyone present.

"A Master-slave relationship lasts forever. As an author writes a book, the material in that book is his work. If for any reason, the book is lost, sold or destroyed, the ideas and precepts of the authors work continues on. The same is true for the teachings of a Master. She might find herself away from her Master, but her slave name, the collar and his teachings still remain.

In my slaves I expect to find the traits held in three acronyms that some of you are familiar with. These acronyms HOPE FAITH & CHARITY represent what she is to bring to the relationship.

HOPE stands for
Humility to be able to grow from your shortcomings
Obedience means to obey your Master.
Perceptiveness to understand what is expected.
And finally, Enjoyment, to enjoy one’s self
FAITH stands for
Feminine, I think you will agree she is feminine.
Articulate is to be intelligent and able to make herself understood
Imaginative: I think in looking around this room you will agree that she is imaginative
Tractable. It means ductile or malleable. As gold is pulled, formed, or changed in shape, the new shape increases its value.
Hospitable. She will make sure that my friends are comfortable and feel welcome in my home.
CHARITY stands for
Charismatic. To be friendly and outgoing
Honest. To tell the truth. If you are afraid of how she will respond, do not ask the question.
Adventurous. To be courageous
Responsible? Yes.
Independent. If I am not present, she must be independent enough to act, interact and protect herself on her own.
Tantalizing? Obviously
Yourself. Be yourself. Allow yourself to come out. Allow yourself to grow.

And finally there is what I call the "Prime Directive": A good slave takes care of the Master and his property. Since she is collared and hence his property, she is required to take care of herself, protecting herself, if for some reason she finds she is not in the immediate presence of her Master.
