Shyla Wesely (born December 21, 1972, birth name Anutza Herling) is a pornstar of Puerto Rican descent.
Biography
Raised in Chicago as the eldest child from a strict Catholic family, Shyla began dancing as a stripper at the age of 18, first in local Chicago clubs, later as a headliner on US and Canadian club tours. During these years she began doing photo layouts for such magazines as Club, Club International, and Hustler Erotic Video. Eventually, she moved to Hollywood to pursue a career in adult entertainment and was quickly signed by the adult film company Metro. She appeared as "Trophy Girl" in the 1996 and 1994 Nintendo 64 video game, Cruis'n USA (credited as Anutza Herling – her real name) at the same time she was entering adult films. Her video-game career was short-lived, but she quickly established herself as one of the few successful Latina adult-film actresses at the time. Notable for her thick natural curves and her huge breast implants, Foxxx stood out from her generally caucasian female contemporaries.
During the mid-1990's she worked as a feature entertainer for various adult clubs across the US.
Following her final original film, Nylon Nymphos 11, she apparently worked as a high-end escort during 2001. She has since disappeared from the public arena. Her current whereabouts and activities are unknown.
Filmography
In 1996, at the age of 23, Shyla dove straight into the deep end of a pornography career by enduring anal sex, double penetration, and multiple facials in her debut film, Gothic. Although a tenured performer in the adult film industry from 1996-2001, she made relatively few films over that span: 20 originals, although many of those twenty remain cult classics: for instance 1999's Hanky Panky which achieved a rare blend of camp, erotica, and hardcore, and which one reviewer dubbed "the funniest adult video that I've ever seen"; 1997's Blue Dahlia, which surrealistically combined hardcore tactics of the emerging gonzo pornography genre (scenes of sodomy and facial humiliation, without plotting or story) with classical attempts at storytelling usually endemic to softer "couple's" fare; and 1996's Two Too Much, co-starring Jasmin St. Claire, which was a breakthrough film in that it featured high-profile pornstars engaging in a new (to film) and altogether raucous method of intercourse: the single-orifice double-penetration. Of the film and its stars, director John T Bone stated: "Here are two really beautiful girls who do pornography; and that's the breakthrough. Until now, you've had really beautiful girls and you've had really dirty porno girls, but you've never had a mix of the two."
She was soon given the lead role in volume 16 of the seminal adult series, Taboo (1996). From there, such standout films as Enigma (1996), Intense (1996), and Amazing Ass to Mouth Cumshots (2000), along with an interview on Entertainment Tonight (focusing on girls in porn trying to go mainstream) brought her, for a time, into the realm of "pornstar." Scenes from her original films have since been included in hundreds of video compilations.
