"Le Cuir Triomphant" (Engllish: "Triumphant in Leather") was written by Alan Mac Clyde and illustrated by Carlo

Review

"Triumphant in Leather" is a blockbuster throughout prewar sadomasochistic editions.

The publisher wanted a luxurious book, abundantly illustrated by Carlo, which includes all the fetishistic imagination to embody the patent leather creatures imagined by Alan Mac Clyde.

Billionaire Odon Knut Anderson. King Leather, bribes a priest to be introduced to the beautiful future wife Solange and immediately and takes her to California. Fetishistic scenes of patent leather and pony girls prevail, as it should. Boots, corsets and whips are not enough, and Carlo proves it: he is never content to display a text image, he truly recreates a scene, he makes it credible, nearly feasible, thus adding a new dimension to the fantasies of the author.

In some drawings, we find the inspiration of Eric Stanton and Jim, proving how Carlo influenced a whole school of American postwar bondage illustrators.

The feat is that will also never renew because of censorship that swept France after the Liberation. Until the 1970s, it seemed no more sadomasochistic book also abundantly illustrated, at least "open" ...

Features 38 drawings by Carlo, color cover.
