Gerontophilia
Chronophilia is a rarely used term that refers to a group of patterns of sexual arousal in which a person's sexuoerotic age is discordant with his or her actual chronological age and is concordant with the age of the partner. The term was coined by noted sexologist and psychologist John Money.
This is not directly related to ephebophilia, gerontophilia, or teleiophilia, in that they are patterns of arousal that favor members of a different age-group, without their sexuoerotic age being different.
Teleiophilia is a rarely-used term coined by Kurt Freund, meaning a minor's or adult's sexual attraction to adults. As this is the norm in most societies, it is not usually considered a paraphilia.
Gerontophilia refers to sexual attraction to the elderly among the non-elderly. Shunamitism (also referred to as gerocomy) is the practice of an old man sleeping with, but not necessarily having sex with, a young virgin to preserve his youth. It is considered an esoteric youth-enhancing method. The rationale was that the heat and moisture of the young woman would transfer to the old man and revitalize him.
The term is based on the biblical story of King David and Abishag in Song of Solomon. The young woman, who was from Shunem, was also referred to as a Shunammite. When King David was old and could not stay warm, his servants found Abishag to sleep with him, though he had no intimate relations with her: therefore, she was still a virgin.
Pedophilia (including infantophilia) differs from all these conditions in that it is a clinically-recognized disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. [1]
