Françoise Pascal (born ✦14 October 1949, in Mauritius) is an actress.
Career
Pascal's first movie was Loving Feeling in 1968, but her breakthrough film was There's a Girl in My Soup (1970) with Peter Sellers, playing Paola. Pascal was also the Penthouse Pet of the Month for August 1970.
Later film roles included the female lead in Jean Rollin's film La Rose de Fer, and Keep It Up Downstairs alongside Diana Dors and Mary Millington.
Her first television work came in October 1971 with a role in Coronation Street playing Ray Langton's friend. Then came numerous guest star roles, with Rex Harrison in Don Quixote, Lee Remick in Tennessee Williams' Summer & Smoke, the BBC sitcom Terry & June and Giants & Ogres for Granada Television.
Her eleven-year relationship with film actor Richard Johnson ended in 1980, although a son Nicholas was born in 1976. She was engaged to marry the Formula One Ford designer Adrian Reynard of Reynard Racing Cars in 1981, but she broke off the engagement after she found out that he was still seeing his old girlfriend.
She met comedy writer Vince Powell at Thames Television in the mid-1970s, little realizing that he was writing the part of saucy Danielle Favre for her in the sitcom Mind Your Language. She did three series of the show before commencing stage roles in Happy Birthday (reuniting with Fraser Hines), and starring in a pantomime of Aladdin. Pascal left for the United States in 1982 with Tim Hauser of the Manhattan Transfer, where she acted in Hollywood with a two-year contract in The Young and The Restless, Gavillan, My Man Adam, Lightning, and the movie The White Stallion.
