A postface is the opposite of a preface: it is a brief article or explanatory information at the end of a book. Postfaces are often included in literary works to place non-essential details at the end, thus preventing confusion for the reader.

A postface is a section added to the end of a book or written as a supplement or conclusion, typically to provide a comment, explanation, or warning. It can be authored by the document's creator or another individual. The postface is distinct from the book's main body and is located in the appendices. While it offers information that isn’t essential to the entire book, it is deemed relevant.
