John Augustus Adamson was an artist, presumably British.
Misery (1807)
In 1807 Adamson made the colorized etching Misery that illustrates school corporal punishment with a birch rod. The delinquent boy is horsed by another student and birched by the schoolmaster on his bared posterior (M/m).
