A "porn bot" is the common term for a fake account on a social networking service (or site) such as MySpace or an Instant messaging service such as AOL Instant Messenger or Yahoo! Messenger that is created for the sole purpose of promoting Internet pornography or sexually-oriented internet dating sites.

Typically, they use stolen or even photoshopped pictures of women (sometimes, men are used), with the aim of convincing other users that the profile belongs to that woman. The profile itself often contains little or no real content, or else many sexual references to arouse the interest of visitors to the page.

The purpose of a porn bot is to promote an adult site and, in some cases, to make others unknowingly do so, through usage of exploitative Adobe Flash or scripts.
