In the 1960s, American Moe Shapiro published La Plume, The first American Fetish Contact magazine, which served as a model of Lenny Burtman’s contact publications. Shapiro was the proprietor of Gargoyle Sales and later Waron Books of Brooklyn, NY. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service listed Shapiro as a major pornographer as late as the late 1960’s.
