Show me your hands is a famous instruction, often found in spanking literature.
It can be humiliating to have to hold out and present one's hands to someone else. The command itself, simple and hardly objectionable, establishes a strong authority position.
The purpose of such a command can be:
- to see if a forbidden object is concealed in the hands
- to inspect the hands (and fingernails) for cleanliness
- to strike the hands for punishment (slapping, or formal chastisement, e.g. with a ruler or cane)
- to tie the hands together or to handcuff them.
