The Discipline of Odette is the English translation of the French spanking novel Matée par le fouet by Jean Martinet, first published in 1930 by Éditions Prima and illustrated by Herric.

There is also a book by the same title by the author Paul Little. It is not yet known whether the two books are the same or not.

There is also another English translation of this book, titled more literally "Mastered by the Whip".
