Chapter 45 - Friends, new and old

During the Summer of 1957 we went up to London several times. The first time we stayed with Wolcott all the time, as he wanted to make some sketches for her portrait. Andrew could not make it. Wolcott did a couple of nice sketches and I took some photos of Ethel wearing her new green and white panelled dress with the green laced leather belt, which showed her waist so well and he did a sketch of her in it and also one of her in a tight fitting princess style velvet dress. In her green dress, green earrings and hat, with green nose studs she looked most attractive. In the evening we went out to a new cafe, where she was the cynosure of everyone's eyes, although in deference to Wolcott, she did remove her nose studs. Andrew and Albert rang us up in the flat to make arrangements to meet them.

In the morning we went to see Dr Mowlem, the Harley Street specialist, about Ethel and her torn ear lobe. He examined them, then pronounced his verdict; that he could repair the ear, but it would mean that she would lose all the lower part of the earlobe and if we wanted both alike, that one would lose three piercings, but he could not join the two tails although I don't knew why not. Then he said, "What do you expect if you will turn your ears into a collander." From which I could gather he did not approve of the decorations at all. So we left him to think it over and decided to leave it as it was, but it cost us 5 guineas for that little bit of advice.

After a trip round Selfridges, wearing her nose stud, we went into Soho to have lunch with Andrew. We showed him the ear piercing equipment, some photos, one of which showed her wearing a thick nose ring, to show his lady friend, who was interested in them and nostril jewels, and who, he said, might be interested in having her nostril pierced. Then back to Wolcott for the afternoon, where Ethel put on a pair of frilly knickers and let him complete a couple of sketches of her in her black corsets.

In the evening we met Albert in the Craven Arms. He had already done what he had threatened, for all around his ears were short lengths of thick nylon thread, pierced in place, and said there were 13 in each. Also his nostrils were similarly pierced. He introduced us to his wife Andree, a rather plump, well corseted female with two piercings in each ear, but at that time, none in either nostril. We took them to our restaurant in Wardour Street for a meal, after which back to King's Cross for the train.

A few days later we had a phone call from a friend of Andrew's, Major F. Morley, who had seen the photo of Ethel wearing the ring through her nose. He gave us an invitation to go anywhere we might suggest to have dinner or 1unch with him. In his letter which followed, he mentioned that he once had a lady friend who wore nose rings, earrings rings and breast rings and liked to tight lace and wear high heels. In his later letters and from conversation he enlarged upon this lady.

It appears she was a beautiful young Jewess, and one day he had picked her up in his sports car, no doubt with the intention of having a little mutual sexual experience.

He had some old London Lifes in the front, and while making a business call of some duration, on his return he found her reading them avidly. When he asked her if she had been bored waiting she replied far from it for she had found the reading extremely interesting. When he asked if she was interested in the items of correspondence, and if so what? To which the replied that everything about tight lacing, high heels, even nose rings attracted her. From that mutual interest things developed apace. He suggested fixing her up with a place to live and an income if the would let him do what he wanted with her. She agreed and said he could lace her, high heel her and pierce her where he would and everything, and she would love it. In fact she delighted in the torture of tight lacing and was never content until laced to the limit, and also wearing the highest heels.

She was young and flexible, so that in a short time he had laced her down to about 14 inches and made her wear heels up to 7 in high on occasions. Not only that, but he pierced her breast nipples and inserted large tapering rings. Also he did the same with her septum and her ear lobes. By moving the rings round he increased the size of the holes until they were at the biggest size, so she could now wear thick stainless steel rings in her nipples, her ears and her septum. Also she delighted in bondage and demanded that she be strapped or chained up until helpless, and then she would ask to be left like that, alone in the flat. I asked him what happened to her and he said, "I don't know, but it could have been a tragedy. One day, I laced her in to the limits of her endurance and added a steel belt to compress her still more. Then she had her feet in long 7 in heel boots laced tightly. Her wrists were then forced behind her back into two wristlets on her waist belt, so that when they were forced in and locked she could not release herself in any way, but was just a helpless dummy. The rings were put through her nipples, nose and ears and attached to chains from the ceiling, and these were then drawn up so that she was now on tip-toe, helplessly hanging from the chains through these tender parts. When it was all done she said, "Now go out and leave me." And that is just what I did, meaning to return in about an hour or so, which should have been the limit of her endurance. I got into the car to go for an hour's drive intending to come back to release her and claim my reward, but I crashed the car and woke up in hospital 3 or 4 weeks later. As soon as I could I hurried back to see what had happened to her, for I thought she might have died there and I would find a dead body, but the place was empty and I learned the milkman had discovered her, after how long, he didn't know, but he had released her and she had gone off with him, so I never saw her again." How long she hung like that or what agonies she went through when he did not return we will never know, but he swore it was all true.

The end
