News list

"News List" defined:

A "bulletin board" used by people to pass messages back forth, using the Internet as a medium.

These lists may be private or public.

These lists may be moderated or unmoderated.

News List	Chat Room
Messages are sent to a central site where they are sent via email to each member of the community	Everyone types into a common pool
Messages are sent privately to individuals	It is up to the individual member to decide if the message is meant for them
Members may answer at leisure	You are on line, and question are answer, by default, in real time.
Messages may be archived	Messages are being sent in real time. Going back to yesterdays mail may be cumbersome
