Austria is a country in Central Europe. Its population is about 8.3 million and its official language is German (Austrian German, to be precise). In some regions, Slovene, Croatian, and Hungarian are official languages too.
Austria is a largely mountainous country due to its location in the Alps. Its capital and largest city is Vienna, which represents about a quarter of the country's population.
Austria is and was home to many great musical composers, writers and scientists, for example Sigmund Freud.
