Tidiness or orderliness is the state or quality of being arranged neatly and in order ("tidy"), and a person's inclination to keep things or their appearance neat and in order.
Tidiness is related to cleanliness, but is not so much about keeping things clean as it is about having things in order and in the right place.
Untidiness is the opposite, usually considered a bad and undesirable trait. Children are usually taught tidyness in various aspects of life, and may get reproved and/or punished for untidiness (for example, for leaving things in a mess).
Tidiness has a lot to do with discipline and self-discipline.
