A U-bolt is a metal anchor shaped like the letter U that is attached to a wall, floor, ceiling, or a piece of furniture. Typically the two ends of the bolt are threaded; they are passed through two holes or a plate and secured with nuts from the rear. In a building, they can also be set in concrete.
To a U-bolt can be attached a rope, a strap, or a carabiner or panic snap to which, in turn, can be attached a rope, strap or chain. U-Bolts can thus be used for bondage. They are found a lot in BDSM dungeons and in private homes for BDSM play.
