In 1953, my family was living in Palmdale and I was attending Antelope Valley Joint Union High School as a Sophomore.

Living in the "High Desert" of California, one of the issues you have is that various lethal critters: scorpions, black widow spiders, tarantulas and various venomous snakes also live in the desert. They lived there for many, many years before mankind moved there.

As a precaution, Junior High schools and High schools had health programs that actually taught how to use "Snake Bite kits" as part of school curricula.

On this particular day, the health nurse decided to teach a room full of "boys a few days short of manhood" how to save our lives. She was a pretty lady wearing blouse, skirt and medium high heels. I could tell she was wearing stockings. I was fantasizing about the type, height and method of attachment: garter belt, thigh highs, etc.

She explained how to use the enclosed blade to make an X-shaped incision over the wound and how to use the suction cup of the appropriate size to suction the venom from the wound. Apply he antiseptic and use the enclosed string to make a temporary tourniquet and transport to nearest aid station.

All was well and good until that fateful moment when she held a cup in each of her outstretched hands to the class. As she turned to the class, these two little yellow suction cups interposed themselves on a straight line from my eyes, to the cups, to her breasts.

I do not remember her name, but that one brief image has been permanently engraved upon my brain.

I have not been the same since. I now carry a snake bite kit in the glove compartment of my car, one in my toy bag and another being carried by any submissive I might be dating at the time. As a matter of fact, I even have one on my desk - you can never tell what kind of critter will enter my house by way of my computer and/or network.
