One of the earliest medical books on the use of flogging (birching) as a sexual stimulant.
A medical book on the curative powers of flagellation. Contains case studies and a theory on how flagellation can cause sexual arousal (having to do with increased blood flow).

18th century

A medico-philosophical work on the erogenous effects of whipping.

19th century

Contains case studies on human sexuality and paraphilia, and Krafft-Ebing's theories on the same. Krafft-Ebing coined terms such as sadism and masochism.

20th century

Contains Freud's theories on spanking fetishism.
Volume III, Love and Pain, III deals with flagellation.
