Beni Hasan (also written as Bani Hasan, or also Beni-Hassan, Arabic بني حسن) is a village and cemetery site in Egypt. Beni Hasan has 39 ancient tombs dating to the Middle Kingdom (ca. 21st to 19th centuries BC). These are famous for the quality of their paintings.
Several of the paintings in Beni Hasan depict corporal punishment scenes. These give as an idea about corporal punishment in ancient Egypt.
